CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and SANTA MONICA, California, June 16, 2020 - In light of the current Coronavirus situation, the OESIS Network Inc and CENTOGENE, a global diagnostics and genetic research company, have partnered to offer COVID-19 screening for schools throughout our network.
The partnership will facilitate RT-PCR testing that can aid a return to campus in the fall for your school, as well as continued screening of your staff and students for resurgence of COVID-19 over the course of the academic school year.
Keeping your school’s health, safety, and peace of mind at the forefront, we have teamed up to offer you a comprehensive solution backed by reputation, quality, capacity, logistics, and price:
- Given the resources of both public and private schools, the price of the test being offered (excluding transportation) will be less than the $100 COVID-19 clinical diagnostic reimbursement price announced in April for Medicare Part B for high throughput, technician intensive and time intensive tests.
- Given the need to test both students and employees, the sample collection will use the CentoSwab™ that can ship directly to school sampling locations. This is a Class I exempt medical device and is listed with the FDA. It is validated for the testing of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The CentoSwab™ is an oropharyngeal swab and will come with self-sampling instructions. It is a dry sample, so there is no need for a stabilization median. CENTOGENE data has shown the excellent reproducibility, stability, and sensitivity for the use of testing. Given the need for accuracy, the testing will use RT-PCR for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. The test will be conducted at CENTOGENE´s CLIA certified lab, which is authorized to do high complexity diagnostics required for PCR testing. All logistics for sample collection will be handled by CENTOGENE and its logistics partners to ensure sample collection, delivery, and analysis in a timely manner.
